Yesenia Hidalgo

Yesenia Hidalgo supports Passage clients with compassion and advocacy. Bilingual and deeply rooted in immigrant rights work, she brings experience from grassroots activism to help guide families through the complexities of the immigration process with care and dedication.
Born and raised in Salem, Oregon, Yesenia is the daughter of Mexican immigrants.Bilingual in Spanish and English, she pursued her studies in Political Science and French at the University of Oregon. After college, she worked with Causa, a nonprofit organization, where she advocated for the rights of undocumented immigrants in Oregon. Much of Yesenia’s work involved lobbying at the State Capitol to push for policies that supported the Latinx and undocumented communities. She is passionate about speaking out and advocating for those who are unable to voice their concerns due to their status or background. Having witnessed the challenges within the immigration system and the recent changes that disproportionately impact marginalized groups, Yesenia finds great fulfillment in supporting Passage’s clients through their immigration journeys. Outside of work, she enjoys walking, cycling, discovering new coffee shops, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
