Michelle Tapia Hurtado, Paralegal

Michelle was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She is a first-generation student who graduated from the University of Oregon in Spring 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science with minors in both Philosophy and Legal Studies. As a daughter of immigrant parents, she grew a passion for Immigration Law and plans to attend law school in the near future.
Before working at Passage, Michelle was an intern at a local non-profit in Portland where she gained experience helping immigrants, refugees and asylees gain legal status.
Outside of school and work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and frequently visits her parents' homeland in Zacatecas, Mexico. During her free time you can find her horseback riding or enjoying a good book while drinking coffee.
