Julia is an attorney with experience in a wide range of immigration matters, focusing her practice primarily in the area of business immigration law. She successfully handled hundreds of immigration cases including labor certifications, audits, EB-1/EB-2 petitions, and all types of non-immigrant visas such as H-1B, O-1, L-1, E-3, TN, J, and F.
Born and raised in South Korea, Julia is an immigrant herself and has first-hand knowledge of the complexities involved in obtaining the right work visa. She also has experience working as an in-house counsel of a large corporation in Korea and has a firm understanding of the legal obligations and business challenges many employers face in addition to their immigration-related needs. She is committed to providing her corporate and individual clients with clear and reliable representation with a comprehensive approach to each issue.
Prior to joining Passage Immigration Law, Julia worked as an attorney in New York City for more than ten years, first as an associate in the immigration department at a full-service law firm then also as a solo practitioner. Julia completed her undergraduate studies at Korea University and received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2004. She is admitted to practice in New York and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)
Julia spent her early childhood in Brussels, Belgium and is proficient in French. She enjoys living in Portland, taking long walks, and drinking pu-erh tea of any variety.
