Avery grew up in Sammamish, Washington and Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to Oregon in 2012. She graduated from the University of Oregon with degrees in Political Science and Spanish, as well as a minor in Legal Studies. During her senior year, she wrote a Political Science thesis comparing the Obama and Trump administration policy responses to Central American child and family immigrants. She plans to eventually attend law school and become an immigration attorney.
Avery loves traveling and experiencing new cultures—during college she spent a semester living in Seville, Spain and traveling around Europe. She hopes to explore South America next. In her free time you can find her kayaking, hiking, reading, trying new food, or hanging out with her two cats and her dog.
